1. Who we are
African Express Markets is a United States-based company (Houston, TX, USA) that buys vehicles and automotive parts on the American market and delivers them to Senegal, with a collection point in Dakar (Dakar, Senegal).
We sell three kinds of item: parts in stock in Dakar, parts from donor vehicles being dismantled, and parts or vehicles sourced to order in the United States.
2. Products and descriptions
Unless marked "new", parts are used. They are tested before listing or shipping and described to the best of our knowledge (condition, fitment, part number). Photos are indicative.
Fitment information (make, model, years, engine) is provided as guidance. It is your responsibility to confirm — ideally with your VIN — that a part fits your vehicle before ordering. Our team checks this with you free of charge.
Vehicles are sold as described, with their title history (clean, salvage, rebuilt) and a photo inspection report available on request.
3. Prices and quotes
Prices are in CFA francs (XOF). Parts in stock in Dakar are shown at the warehouse collection price; delivery is charged separately.
Parts and vehicles sourced from the United States are quoted in detail: part price, shipping and, where expressly stated, customs. A quote is valid for 7 days. After that, or if exchange rates or shipping costs change, a new quote may be issued.
Where a quote states "customs payable on arrival", duties and clearance fees are your responsibility and are settled before collection.
4. Orders, deposits and payment
A sourced order is confirmed when you accept the quote and pay a deposit of 50% of the total, unless the quote states otherwise. The balance is paid before collection or delivery.
Items in stock in Dakar are paid in full at collection or before delivery.
Accepted payment methods: Wave, Orange Money, Free Money, cash at the collection point, bank transfer. A receipt is issued for every payment. No card payments are collected on the website.
5. Sourcing from the United States
Once your deposit is received we purchase the item on your behalf in the United States. From that purchase onward the order cannot be cancelled without cost: the deposit covers the item bought and the costs incurred.
Lead times (in days) are estimates based on container schedules, transit and customs. They are not a contractual commitment. We keep you informed of any significant delay.
A request to "add to the next container" is honoured only if the quote is accepted and the deposit paid before that container's closing date.
6. Shipping, customs and collection
Sea freight to Dakar is operated with our logistics partner. Every order is tracked online (the "Track order" page) from the US warehouse until it is ready in Dakar.
Items are made available at the Dakar collection point. Delivery within Senegal is available on quotation. Please collect your order within 14 days of being notified it is ready.
Responsibility for the item passes on handover to you or your carrier.
7. Reserving parts on a donor vehicle
A part still fitted to a vehicle being dismantled can be reserved with a deposit of 30% of its price, for 7 days.
If the purchase is completed within that period the deposit is deducted from the price. Otherwise the reservation is released and the deposit is kept as credit against a future purchase.
If the part turns out to be unusable on removal, the deposit is refunded in full.
8. Returns and warranty
Please inspect every item at collection or delivery.
- Parts in stock in Dakar: returns accepted within 7 days, part unfitted and in original condition, with receipt. Refund or exchange.
- Used-part warranty: 30 days from collection, covering a functional defect in the part. Exchange for an equivalent part or refund. Excluded: normal wear, consumables, damage from fitting, misuse or modification.
- New parts: manufacturer's warranty where one exists, otherwise 30 days.
- Sourced-to-order items: cannot be cancelled once bought in the United States. If the item received does not match the quote or is damaged on arrival, report it within 48 hours with photos: we replace or refund, shipping included.
- Vehicles: sold as described after inspection. No return after collection, except proven non-conformity with the description and inspection report.
- Fitting and removal labour is not refunded.
9. Liability
Our liability for an order is limited to the amount paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect losses (vehicle downtime, loss of business) or for delays caused by sea freight, customs authorities or events beyond our control.
Nothing in these terms limits rights the law grants you that cannot be excluded.
10. Governing law and contact
